If you love fitness and feel you would like to work in this area, then take the first step by enrolling in the Higher Certificate in Exercise & Health Fitness.
This course is not like most other courses. There are many personal trainer courses and fitness instructor courses on offer in Dublin, but they are not University qualifications. Some even take place in the sports facilities of universities, but the qualifications are not awarded by the university.

This is a two year university course based in Dublin. It is approved for SUSI grants. CAO application is not required. Graduates specialise in year 2 so they can work as S&C coaches, advanced personal trainers, fitness instructor or Pilates teachers in addition to having the fitness coaching skills from year 1. The qualification (QQI Level 6 Major and EQF Level 5) is the only university accredited fitness qualification available in Dublin. Graduates can also progress to Diploma & Degree level on a flexible full or part time pathway.

Turn your love of fitness into a full or part time career. The Certificate in Exercise & Health Fitness is a University course offering a university accredited professional qualification. We offer a choice of day or evening courses based in Dublin City Centre. Both courses are part time and are accredited by the University of Limerick.
Graduates work in gyms, leisure centres and fitness clubs or they set up their own businesses. You can see that this course offers the highest qualifications (QQI Level 6 and EQF Level 5) if you examine the fitness instructor courses and personal trainer courses on offer in Dublin. You will not find a higher standard as this is the only university accredited qualification for this type of course available in Dublin.

Another feature of this qualification is that graduates can progress to higher level university qualifications. The Higher Certificate, Diploma and Degree courses can be completed in the years ahead on a full or part time basis. This is a unique, flexible pathway and many of our graduates have continued their professional development by progressing to higher qualifications
